AN EVALUATION OF KARL MARX’S IDEA OF CAPITALISM

ABSTRACT: The historical record demonstrates that individuals throughout time have joined forces to establish organised societies. The purpose behind this is to facilitate harmonious coexistence among human beings. As a result, society is a construct that has been created by humans. What criteria can be used to evaluate the fairness and justice of a society? These questions are seeking answers and are of significant concern to political philosophers. The concept of capitalism originated in the western world and is widely implemented in the Euro-American region.

The principle of capitalism has rapidly proliferated throughout societies worldwide, resulting in its widespread practise today. At first glance, capitalism may seem to have positive outcomes due to its association with rapid growth and development in society. Karl Marx, widely recognised as the founder of socialism, strongly opposes capitalism in all its aspects. From his perspective, capitalism is characterised as exploitative. This study will analyse Marx's concept of capitalism in order to address the question mentioned above.
